GPR is committed to utilizing the latest technologies to design a broad variety of projects.  Our structural team uses numerous structural design packages, including Enercalc 5.5 Structural Engineering Library, TEDDSâ Engineering Document and Design System, Integrated Engineering Softwareã (Finite Element Analysis), TJ beam, BC Calc, and IBC Design Pressures for Openings.

GPR's Structural Engineering Group is lead by Lynwood V. Prest, PE, BASE, President of GPR.  Val is a registered professional engineer in 6 states, has National Certification and is listed in Who's Who. In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Val is licensed as both a Civil and a Structural Engineer.  He previously owned his own firm for 12 years. In addition to his extensive and varied structural and civil engineering design activities, Val has also conducted many forensic engineering investigations into structural failures, and has acted as an expert witness in court. He has developed specialized techniques for epoxy repairs of timber framing and has presented a mini seminar on those procedures. Val is a recent Past-President of The Boston Association of Structural Engineers (BASE).
