GPR provided a full range of services from concept through construction
record. Project required demolition of existing buildings located on a
Massachusetts Contingency Plan listed site, including coordination of
existing underground waste plume monitoring effort throughout design and
construction phases. Regulatory approval process required involvement
with more than a dozen local and state departments and agencies.
Civil engineering services included site design for a new 9,800
square-foot retail strip mall, accommodating on-site floodplain,
bordering vegetated wetlands, and riverfront area. A total of 38 parking
spaces were constructed on the 1.2-acre site. The stormwater management
system includes roof drain dry wells and a parking lot oil separator
ahead of discharge to wetland buffer zone. GPR coordinated traffic
studies and worked closely with the Town during design and installation
of a new traffic signal to serve the site curb cut along Middlesex
Turnpike.
